Jason and Cappy came down last night to help us with the house today. Last night Ryan made a yummy supper of pizza, which everyone loved! He even broadened his pizza experience by making a green pepper pizza for Cappy, which was apparently, really really good!
Today me and Cappy tackled the office wallpaper while Ryan and Jason tackled the Kitchen. The ugly grass wallpaper in the office came down a LOT easier than we anticipated! I thought it was going to take us all day, but it only took a couple hours! We had to peel off the upper grass layer, and then once the bottom layer got wet it just peeled right off! It was amazing! So we were able to move on to some other rooms. We also got all of the wallpaper out of the Dining Room and both Bathrooms. Ryan attempted the wallpaper in the back hall, but it's a lost cause. As is the wallpaper in the Kitchen. We'll just take down the plaster and drywall in those two rooms and replace it.

Jason and Ryan had the hard job of the day. They took down all of the upper cabinets in the Kitchen. And made a hole in the ceiling. Oops. The cabinets were disgusting... the tops of them were covered in more mouse poop and dirt than I'd ever seen. Good riddance! They also took off the doors of the lower cabinets and discovered how the mice had been getting into the Kitchen. There's a hole cut into the floor to run wiring to an outlet. The mouse/mice would squeeze through the hole, rubbing against the wire, rubbing the protective coating off the wiring. So they quickly unplugged the stove (I already miss the clock.. I'll have to bring one to the house now), and turned off the power to that outlet. They also investigated the stove condition more closely (not like I was going to use it anyways!), and it turns out that it was so poorly maintained that the burners have just disintegrated. Gross.
